This venue, tucked away on the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire border, was the perfect spot for these two to celebrate after their beaut church ceremony in Bedford town.

Venue Description
Bassmead Manor Barns is honestly one of the coolest wedding venues we’ve ever worked at, and we’re so proud to be recommended there! It’s got this fantastic mix of rustic and modern vibes that makes it feel cosy yet super stylish all at the same time.
Starting the day off right, both Lars and Gigi had access to preparation spaces. Gigi and her girls got ready at the Boudoir, a light-filled, ultra-chic suite perfect for makeup touch-ups and champagne toasts.
Meanwhile, Lars and his groomsmen chilled across the moat in the honeymoon suite how cool is that name? It’s a stylish retreat with loads of character and plenty of space for laughs and pre-ceremony bonding.
The Rickety Barn brings all the vibes. After arriving back from the church ceremony, everyone headed to the Moat Barn for drinks and chatting, spilling out into the landscaped gardens (yep, peacocks included!) for some fresh air and photos.
The wedding breakfast was held in the Bridge Barn, a bright, airy space overlooking the moat. It’s got these neutral tones that can be styled however you want – Lars and Gigi went for a chic, understated aesthetic with some floral touches, and the main theme? Moons and stars. Deligthful
And when the sun set, the Bridge Barn turned into a proper dancefloor, while outside, the wood-fired pizzas from the outdoor kitchen were an absolute hit. Bassmead really has thought of everything, and with the Dove Cottage waiting as the newlyweds’ honeymoon suite, it’s the perfect end to a perfect Bassmead Manor Barns wedding day!
Wedding Details
Lars and Gigi put so much thought into all the little details of their wedding, and it paid off big time. Gigi’s wedding dress was an absolute winner, picked from Wed2B – it was sleek, stylish, and just so her. I’m still dreaming of those sleeve puffs, honestly, wow.
She added a personal touch with accessories from Etsy and some old sentimental jewellery, with a nod to the stars and moon theme.
Her shoes? Gorgeous comfy lace heels from Lace and Favour – they were fab!
Lars looked equally sharp in his tailored suit from Moss Bros, complete with a classic tie and polished shoes. These two were the definition of cool and effortlessly stylish.
The flowers, done by Daisy Ellen Flowers, were another highlight. They went for a seasonal mix of blooms in soft pastels, which added just the right pop of colour against the barn’s rustic tones. The bouquet was a masterpiece – honestly, we could’ve done a whole photoshoot just with that!
Their cake, created by La Rondine, was a work of art. It was a multi-tiered beauty with a semi-naked finish, decorated with fresh flowers and a hint of gold leaf – simple yet totally stylish.
Entertainment-wise, Platinum Disco Entertainment kept the party going all night long. From the music to the lighting setup, they absolutely smashed it.
And shoutout to Hobby Craft for the stationery – Lars and Gigi DIY’d their table numbers and signs, which added such a personal touch to their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding.
It’s little things like that which make a wedding feel so legendary!!
Photography and Videography
Being part of Lars and Gigi’s wedding as both their photographers and videographers was such an honour. From the moment Gigi stepped into her dress to the confetti run, to spinning on the dancefloor, we were there to capture it all.
Bassmead Manor Barns is a dream for photographers – every corner of the venue is just so photogenic!
The Rickety Barn’s warm wooden tones and soft natural light made for incredible ceremony shots, while the surrounding gardens and that iconic moat gave us endless options for awesome couple portraits.
Our favourite part was mixing the beauty of the venue with the happiness and love that Lars and Gigi share! Their personalities really shone through in every photo, we just loved these two and their nerdy vibes
We also made sure to capture all the fun of the evening celebrations, from dancefloor action to guests enjoying the wood-fired pizzas outside. Our laid-back, natural style of photography and videography matched the relaxed but lively vibe of their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding perfectly.
Memorable Moments
There were so many standout moments during Lars and Gigi’s wedding that it’s hard to pick just a few. But if we had to choose, the first one has to be Gigi’ getting in the wedding car at Bassmead. Her dress was huge, she looked like a pixie in a cloud, and had all of the team helping her in. It was priceless, and quite emosh!
Another highlight was the ceremony itself. Watching these two get married in the church, it was a super emotional ceremony and Gigi cried walking down the aisle with their guests looking on, was so moving – you could feel the love in the air!
The speeches were another memorable part of this Bassmead Manor Barns wedding. Lars’ best man absolutely nailed his speech – it was equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, and it had everyone in stitches.
Then, of course, there was the dancefloor. Lars and Gigi had a playlist full of metal that had everyone having a wild time, and by the end, the whole dancefloor was packed with their friends and family joining in. Us included.
Oh, and let’s not forget the late-night pizza run – seeing everyone gather around the outdoor kitchen for a slice of wood-fired deliciousness was such a fun and relaxed moment.
