Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding for Emma and Luke

Emma and Luke’s wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns was nothing short of beautiful. These two are an absolute dream couple – fun and so clearly head over heels for each other. You know those couples who just fit? That’s them. Gym buffs with a fun sense of humour, they brought such a vibrant and positive energy to the day that we (recommended wedding photographers at Basssmead Manor Barns) couldn’t help but adore every second of it.

The venue, tucked away on the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire border, couldn’t have been more perfect for their vibe. With its mix of history and modern style, it set the tone so well. Add in Emma’s stunning draped dress that showed off her gym-honed back (she looked incredible!) and Luke looking sharp as ever, and you’ve got a wedding that we’re still buzzing about!

In this blog, we are going to tell you about this Bassmead Manor Barns wedding for Emma and Luke.

A Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding

Bassmead Manor Barns

Let’s talk about Bassmead Manor Barns for a sec – it’s the ultimate romantic spot for any wedding. This venue combines history with a fresh, contemporary vibe, and it’s all surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Whether you’re dreaming of a rustic aesthetic or something a little more chic, this place just works.

The morning prep spaces? Epic! The Salon and Boudoir is a light-filled haven where brides can sip fizz, have a laugh with their crew, and get ready in style. Across the moat, the grooms and their gang have The Dudeoir – a really cool retreat to relax and get ready for the day. Oh, did you know the moat officially marks Bassmead as a castle? We bloomin’ love this fact, ha!

The ceremony options are just as dreamy. The Rickety Barn, with its 300-year-old timber beams and chandeliers, is full of character.

In warmer months, couples can opt for The Thatched Bower, a stunning outdoor structure with woodland views – the ideal spot for those “I do” moments. Little secret, we kinda prefer the rickety barn, though we’ve only shot one outside ceremony there so our minds could be changed..!
Post-ceremony, the party kicks off with drinks in the courtyard  where guests can enjoy the gardens. Then it’s over to the Bridge Barn for the wedding breakfast – a light, airy space with neutral tones that’s a dream to personalise.

Food and drink are a massive part of the experience at a Bassmead Manor Barns wedding. Whether it’s fine dining, hearty sharing platters, or wood-fired pizzas for the evening, the in-house catering team knocks it out of the park. Pair that with cocktails or a glass of bubbly, and you’re set for a proper celebration. Recommendation – The famous bassmead scotch egg. Trust us.

As the sun sets, the dance floor in the Bridge Barn comes alive, with the outdoor kitchen serving up tasty street food to keep guests going into the night.

And when it’s time to crash, the couple can retreat to Dove Cottage, their private honeymoon hideaway, while family and friends cosy up in Appletree Cottage.

Emma and Luke’s Wedding Day Highlights

Where do we even start with Emma and Luke’s Bassmead Manor Barns wedding?! It was just one of those bloomin’ awesome celebrations where everything clicked. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was so relaxed and fun – you could feel the excitement in the air and everyone was buzzing.

Emma looked absolutely incredible in her draped gown from Perla Nova Bridal, which really showcased her incredible  back. Girl crush incoming!! She was glowing (inside and out), and her confidence and natural beauty just shone through. One of the most chilled brides we’ve ever met, for sure.

Luke was equally dapper, but what really stood out was how these two couldn’t stop smiling whenever they were together. They’re one of those couples that just radiate love – the kind of energy that makes everyone around them feel all warm and fuzzy, and made our job a breeze.

The ceremony in the Rickety Barn was full of lovely moments and a few cheeky giggles (just how we like it).

Afterward, drinks flowed in the Moat Barn, and guests went into the gardens, soaking up the sunshine and admiring the lush surroundings.

The dance floor later in the night? Oh, it went OFF. We’re talking full-on party vibes, thanks to the Strobe Disco Roadshow, who absolutely smashed it. Honestly, watching everyone throw shapes and celebrate these two legends was a highlight for us! We always recommend Rob, hes awesome!

Suppliers and Styling Standouts

We need to give a massive shoutout to the dream team of wedding suppliers who helped make Emma and Luke’s Bassmead Manor Barns wedding as epic as it was.

First up, Rustic by Rebecca – these guys absolutely nailed the styling. Their thoughtful, family-run approach brought so much beauty to the venue, making it feel both personal and super stylish. We shot Rebecca and Simon’s wedding too at Bassmead, its always so lovely to see them again!

On to the florals – Flowers by Aimee blew us away. From the bouquets to the ceremony décor, everything was fresh, vibrant, and arranged so well.

Elly Jayne Hair and Makeup is always a favourite of ours, and she delivered again. Emma’s look was effortless yet flawless – Pinterest-worthy hair and makeup that stayed in tact from morning prep to the dance floor chaos!

Of course, we can’t forget the food. Zen Treats, run by Michelin-trained chef Ben Varley, was a total hit. Guests were raving about the brownies, cupcakes, and canapés – not to mention the gorrrg wedding cake.

The entertainment was next level, thanks to Strobe Disco Roadshow, who kept the party buzzing all night.

And for a fun, interactive touch, The Cambridge Photobooth provided endless laughs and memorable snaps!

Finally, we have to shout out Perla Nova Bridal for Emma’s dress and veil. The design was stylish and modern, and it suited her personality and style so well.

Our Experience as Videographers and Photographers

We’ve got to say, being part of Emma and Luke’s Bassmead Manor Barns wedding was an absolute privilege. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of the gang, and we just loved every second of capturing their story.

Our approach is always relaxed and fun – we’re basically golden retrievers with cameras – and this wedding was no different. We hyped them up, blended in with the guests (seriously, people always think we’ve known the couple forever), and captured every little moment, from the teary-eyed ceremony to the epic dance floor scenes.

Getting to know Emma and Luke, even just for a day, was such a joy. They were so natural and down-to-earth, which made our job ridiculously easy. Plus, the love and support from their friends and family created an atmosphere that was just electric!
