There’s something about saying “I do” surrounded by the wild beauty of nature and epic animals that makes a wedding feel extra special. Woburn Safari Park’s Safari Lodge is not your average venue, because honestly, it’s a wholeeee experience! Courtney said in our pre-wedding call ‘Its basically a family day out at the zoo!’ And it really was that laid back!
Right between Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, this spot is ideal for couples who want a day that is super unique and fun. It’s made for animal lovers!!
The Safari Lodge gave Courtney and Adam a dreamy yet laid back backdrop with its panoramic windows and a south-facing veranda that overlooks Swan Lake and the Desert Springs. Imagine the sun streaming in, reflections bouncing off the lake, and giraffes walking in the distance…that’s the vibe we are talking about at this Woburn Safari Park wedding! Talk about a photographer’s dream!
The neutral tones of the space, combined with wooden décor, made it sooo easy to style and personalise. And the best part? This venue offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. So, whatever the weather or vibe you’re going for, they’ve got you covered.
It’s safe to say Courtney and Adam nailed it with their choice. I mean, who wouldn’t want a wedding with lions, tigers, and elephants as part of the scenery?! Its actually based next to the meerkats and other more tame animals, but thats probably for the best once things get lairy right?!
Personal Touches That Made It Even More Awesome
Courtney and Adam’s Woburn Safari Park wedding wasn’t just unique because of the venue. It was all the little personal touches that made the day feel so ‘them’.
For starters, they made their own stationery! From hand-crafted invites to bespoke table settings, their DIY skills added to the authentic vibe.
Then there were the cakes. Cupcakes were made by a family member, and the wedding cake was created by a close friend. These sweet treats didn’t just taste amazing but they added an even more meaning to the celebration. It was such a lovely way to involve the people they care about most!
And let’s not forget the outfits! Courtney looked stunning in her gown from @aboutabrideplussize – a shop that celebrates every bride, no matter their size. Even managed a lake swan boat pedalo in it! Comfy! Oh, and crocs for the evening!!!
Her dress was absolute perfection, complemented by accessories that were all about her personality, which was a tiara and veil from the same shop. The veil had beautiful embroidery by @hollywintercouture, and a necklace by @asheswithart.
Adam, meanwhile, kept things sharp and classic in Skopes, with a tie from @wed2b and cufflinks by @bloomboutique_uk. They both absolutely nailed their looks.
Even the bridesmaids brought the style in their gorgeous dresses from @wed2b, tying everything together beautifully.
This wedding was proof that when it comes to fashion, sometimes simplicity and the little details win every time!
The Fun and Relaxed Vibes
From start to finish, Courtney and Adam’s day was all about good vibes. They kept things relaxed and fun, creating an atmosphere where everyone felt at ease and ready to celebrate.
There’s something so special about a Woburn Safari Park wedding where the focus is on love and connection rather than rigid timelines or over-the-top frills.
Their florist, @woburnweddingflowers, brought the romance with bespoke floral designs that perfectly suited the setting and the couple’s style. Lesley Symonds clearly knows her craft, and her 20 years of experience shone through in every bouquet and arrangement.
Hair and makeup were on point too, thanks to @Aimeelaurenhairdressing and @ejh_artistry. They kept Courtney and her bridal party looking effortlessly glam from morning prep to dancefloor antics!
And speaking of the dancefloor – Charlotte Mills bridal shoes made sure Courtney was comfy and stylish as she danced the night away. Each pair of their shoes comes with a silver sixpence for luck, which is such a sweet tradition.
We also have to mention the catering, courtesy of Woburn Safari Park itself. It’s safe to say no one left this wedding hungry!
A Photographer and Videographer’s Dream
As Woburn photographers and videographers, we couldn’t have asked for a better day to capture. The combination of backdrops, natural light, and Courtney and Adam’s incredible energy made our job ridiculously fun!
Honestly, the vibe of this Woburn Safari Park wedding was everything. It was laid-back, exciting, and full of those real, candid moments we loveee so much.
One of our favourite things about weddings like this is how connected we get to feel to the day. We’re all about blending in, hyping people up, and making sure everyone is comfortable in front of the camera.
