There’s a dangerous point during every wedding where we start wondering if it’s socially acceptable to package our couples up and take them home with us. Emily and Jamie definitely fell into that category!
From the moment we arrived at Crockwell Farm, we were made to feel like we’d been part of the family for years. That’s honestly our favourite kind of wedding. We love blending in, chatting to guests, getting stuck in where needed and capturing the day as it naturally goes on.
We also need to apologise to anyone who attended this wedding… because as their Crockwell Farm wedding photographers, we may have been slightly overexcited.
On the drive over we were convinced we’d forgotten how to photograph weddings. We’d spent the previous two weeks buried in our editing cave, and somehow that felt like months. Turns out we hadn’t forgotten a thing and we were just ridiculously happy to be back doing what we love!
Emily and Jamie’s winter wedding at Crockwell Farm in Northamptonshire, reminded us why we love this job so much.

A Cosy Winter Wedding at Crockwell Farm
Just ahead of Christmas, Crockwell Farm was the perfect setting for a relaxed winter wedding. As a family-run wedding venue in the Northamptonshire countryside, it has such a welcoming atmosphere, and you can genuinely feel that throughout the day.
One of the reasons we love photographing weddings here is that couples have exclusive use of the venue across three days. There’s no rushing around, no feeling like you’re on someone else’s schedule, just plenty of time to enjoy every moment with your favourite people!
From the warm oak beams to the beautiful courtyard and cosy reception spaces, there were brilliant photo opportunities everywhere without needing to disappear for hours. Exactly how we like it.

Emily’s Dress… and the Neck Scarf That Stole the Show
Emily looked awesome from the second she stepped into her Maggie Sottero gown from Belle & Bouquet. Classic, stylish and completely her!
But then came one of our favourite moments of the whole day…
After the ceremony, Emily added the coolest neck scarf to her bridal outfit, completely changing the look for the evening without changing the dress. It added so much personality and gave the outfit a modern twist that suited her perfectly.
We absolutely love seeing couples make their wedding at Crockwell Farm their own, and this little detail was such a brilliant reflection of Emily’s style.
Honestly… we need more bridal scarves in our lives.

All the Little Details That Tell the Story
Before the celebrations kicked off, we spent some time capturing all the little details that usually become some of the most treasured photos.
Jo Malone perfume, stylish shoes, jewellery, invitations and gorgeous winter bouquet all came together beautifully. Rachel W Hair & Makeup created such a natural, timeless look, while Green Room Flowers absolutely nailed the seasonal florals.
Meanwhile, Jamie and the lads were having a great morning getting ready, suited and booted thanks to Fogarty Formal Hire, with plenty of laughs before the ceremony even began!
It’s these quieter moments that help tell the full story of a wedding at Crockwell Farm, and they’re just as important as everything that follows.

The Best Kind of Wedding Day
If you’ve looked around our website before, you’ll know we’re not about turning your wedding into one giant photoshoot.
Our couples want amazing photographs, but they also want to actually enjoy their wedding. Emily and Jamie were exactly that. They weren’t interested in disappearing for hours or following a rigid photography schedule. They wanted to spend time with their favourite people, laugh loads and trust us to capture everything naturally.
That’s exactly what we did.
We gave a little guidance when needed, hyped them up during portraits, then stepped back and documented the real moments as they happened. The hugs, laughs, happy tears and the questionable dance moves!
They’re always the moments people appreciate most.

A Dance Floor That Delivered
Once the evening celebrations kicked off, Rob Lawes Entertainment made sure the dance floor stayed busy all night.
Winter weddings always have such a brilliant atmosphere once everyone settles in, and this one was no exception. There was so much laughter, loads of energy and plenty of moments that had us grinning behind the cameras.
As a husband-and-wife wedding photography and video team, these are the moments we absolutely love. One of us can be capturing reactions while the other is documenting everything happening on the dance floor, meaning nothing gets missed and the whole story comes together naturally.
