Some weddings are about everything being absolutely perfect. Every detail planned. Every minute accounted for. Every little thing looking exactly as it should.
And then there are weddings where the most important thing is being together.
Harriet and Toby’s wedding at Abbey Barn was very much the latter.
After a pretty difficult few months in the lead-up to their wedding, they weren’t looking for perfection. They wanted a relaxed, chilled day surrounded by their mixed bag of family and closest friends, celebrating 10 wonderful years together.
And honestly? We loved that.
That’s exactly how we think weddings should be!
As wedding photographers and videographers, we’re not here to make your wedding day fit around a Pinterest-perfect shot list. We’re here to photograph what actually happens, the people you love, the little moments you might miss and all the brilliant chaos in between.
We are going to tell you more about Harriet and Toby’s relaxed wedding at Abbey Barn.

A wedding about celebrating 10 years together
Harriet and Toby had already shared a whole decade together before they reached their wedding day.
So this wasn’t just about getting married. It was a celebration of everything that had come before it! Of their relationship, their family, their friends and all the memories they’d made together.
After a challenging lead-up, being able to finally get everyone together and properly celebrate was clearly something incredibly special.
And there was no pressure for the day to be anything other than what it needed to be. A good day, together, surrounded by their people.
All the lovely little details
There were some gorgeous personal touches throughout this wedding at Abbey Barn, including Harriet’s wedding dress from Gowns & Garters, wedding rings from Page Fine Jewellery and beautiful flowers from Fern Flowers.
The welcome sign was particularly lovely because it was painted by Toby’s sister, Holly, making it something completely personal to them rather than just another wedding decoration!
There were also nails by The Nail Smith, makeup by Carley Hall Makeup and a cake from Cris’s Cakes.
All those little details might seem small individually, but when you look back through your gallery, they become part of the story of your day.
And that’s exactly why we photograph them!
A relaxed day with their favourite people
The whole vibe of Harriet and Toby’s wedding at Abbey Barn was about spending time with the people they love.
No unnecessary fuss and no trying to make the day look like someone else’s wedding. Just family, friends, food, drinks, laughter and a lot of love!
It meant we could photograph things as they naturally happened rather than constantly pulling people away from the party.
And this is where our documentary approach really comes into its own.
We’re always watching for those little moments. Someone laughing in the background. A hug that lasts just a little longer. A parent getting emotional.
Friends completely losing themselves on the dancefloor.
Honestly, they always make for the best photos!!
And then came the party…
With The Wildcards providing the entertainment, the dancefloor was always going to be worth keeping an eye on.
We love a wedding at Abbey Barn where people properly get involved.
And because we also provided video alongside the photography, we could capture all that energy in motion too! This includes the laughs, the dancing, the atmosphere, the bits you remember immediately and the bits you probably won’t remember until you see them again in your gallery or film.
Photography and video, without the fuss
Harriet and Toby also chose to have their wedding filmed alongside their photography.
Because we work together as a team, we can capture both without making it feel like a full production has descended on your wedding.
We know where the other one is going to be. We know when to move. We know when to stay put. And most importantly, we know when to leave you alone and let the moment happen!
That means you get wedding photos on video that work together beautifully, without feeling like you’re spending the whole day being directed by cameras.
