From sunshine and huge floral installations to champagne cork sabres, personalised ski gondolas and a dancefloor that never seemed to slow down, their day at Bassmead Manor Barns was packed with personality from start to finish.

As Cambridgeshire wedding photographers and videographers, these are exactly the kinds of weddings we love being part of. The ones where couples focus on creating an incredible experience for their guests and just want photos and films that capture what it all felt like.

Hope and Josh were absolute legends, and their wedding was the perfect reflection of who they are!

A Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding Full of Personality

Located on the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire border, Bassmead Manor Barns is one of those Cambridgeshire wedding venues that somehow manages to feel both stylish and relaxed at the same time.

The venue has restored historic barns with modern spaces, giving couples plenty of flexibility to create a wedding that feels completely their own. From the morning prep through to the evening party, every part of the venue flows so well, making it an awesome place for storytelling photography and video!

Hope and Josh made the most of every corner at their Bassmead Manor Barn wedding.

The morning started in the venue’s preparation spaces, with excitement building on both sides. One of the huge advantages of us working ALWAYS as a duo for photography and  video, is that we can be in two places at once.

While one of us captured the morning atmosphere with the bridal party, the other was with the guys documenting those quieter moments before everything kicked off.

It means neither side of the story gets missed!

The Flowers Were Completely Wild (In The Best Way)

It’s impossible to talk about this Bassmead Manor Barn wedding without talking about the flowers!

Everywhere you looked there were incredible floral displays created by Emily Tallulah Flowers, transforming the barns into something that felt straight out of a dream while still keeping that relaxed countryside vibe that Bassmead is known for.

The thing we loved most was that the flowers weren’t there just because they looked nice. They genuinely reflected Hope and Josh’s personalities. Fun, colourful, joyful and completely themselves!

When couples invest in details that really mean something to them, it always comes across in the photos.

A Ski Gondola In The Middle Of A Wedding? Why Not.

One of our favourite details from the day was the personalised ski gondola prop!

If you’ve ever been skiing, you’ll know exactly the kind of gondola we’re talking about. Seeing one sat in the middle of a wedding reception definitely wasn’t on our bingo card for the year, but it worked perfectly.

It became an instant talking point throughout this Bassmead Manor Barn wedding and gave guests somewhere fun to create fun memories together!

We always tell our couples that the best wedding photos come from real moments. Give people something fun to interact with and the reactions happen naturally. The gondola did exactly that!!

Why Our Approach Worked So Well For Hope and Josh

One of the biggest compliments we receive at weddings is when guests assume we’ve known the couple for years.

The reality is that we’ve often only met many of the couples in person that day!

For us, that’s exactly how wedding photography and video should feel.

Hope and Josh weren’t interested in spending hours posing or disappearing from their Bassmead Manor Barn wedding. They wanted to spend time with their favourite people, enjoy the atmosphere and actually experience the day they’d spent so long planning. That’s exactly how we work.

We’re huge hype people when couples need encouragement, but we’re also very aware of when to step back and let moments happen naturally.

Because we shoot both wedding photography and video together, everything feels easy going too. There’s no competing for shots or awkward interruptions. We just work around each other instinctively, documenting the story as it happens!

It’s a relaxed approach that fits perfectly with couples like Hope and Josh.

Champagne Corks, Confetti And A Packed Dancefloor

As if the flowers and ski gondola weren’t enough, the day also included one of the coolest champagne moments we’ve seen in a while!

Instead of opening bottles traditionally, champagne corks were dramatically chopped off, creating a brilliant moment that had guests cheering and scrambling for photos.

Throw in a confetti exit packed with energy, emotional speeches, incredible food and a dancefloor that stayed busy all evening, and there was never a dull moment.

These are the Bassmead Manor Barn weddings we absolutely love documenting because every part of the day feels genuine. Nothing felt forced or staged. Just great people having an awesome time.

The Legends Behind The Day

One thing that really stood out throughout Hope and Josh’s wedding was the incredible team of suppliers they brought together. From the jaw-dropping floral displays by Emily Tallulah Flowers to the beautiful styling by Rustic by Rebecca.

Hope looked amazing in her Evie Young Bridal gown from Lotte Rose Bridal, while Josh and his groomsmen looked sharp in suits from Souster & Hicks

With Alexander Wedding Belles taking care of hair and makeup, Amber’s Bakes & Cakes creating the cake, Flutter Darlings providing the confetti and Ally Romanatti keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes, it was clear just how much care had gone into building the perfect supplier team.

As wedding photographers and videographers, we know how much difference a great team makes to the overall experience, and this group absolutely delivered!
