Spring had definitely sprung as we arrived to Plum Park Manor as the florists were setting up a beautiful arch of white roses and gypsophila to the entrance of the venue.
We knew this would be an epic wedding as we came across a simple sign that said “Finding you was like coming home”, the second we walked in.
Sarah found the girls with their glam squad getting ready for the most magical day of Sophie’s life. As soon as Sarah entered, she saw the most stunning, detailed and delicate veil that we’ve seen for a long time – we KNEW this would be an amazing picture so hung the dresses up and placed the veil out beautifully with the words “God only knows what I’d be without you”, stitched at the bottom of it.
The bridesmaids read handmade cards that Sophie had made for them with heartfelt words on, setting the emotional tone that carried on for the rest of the day.
Glamour was the theme of the day, with Sophie donning a pair of fluffy, white slippers on with the letters B-R-I-D-E embossed on to them in white pearl jewels and a pair of white, silk pyjamas.
Dan was over checking in on the helicopter, SAY WHAT? Yes, you heard correctly, the helicopter where Alex and his groomsmen would be arriving at the venue shortly.
Guests started to arrive as Alex was in the air and Sophie and her bridesmaids were getting ready and we all awaited the most AMAZING wedding entrance of all time. Helicopter firmly landed, Dan took to the field to capture snaps of the groom’s arrival and entrance, greeting guests as he went. Sarah captured a sneak peek out of a window as she heard the noise. That’s the beauty of hiring us – we capture everything as there’s two of us! You can read more about it on our approach page.
With the grooms party’s feet firmly on the ground, we took the time to capture some group shots outside the venue. These photos are so special and the memories are held forever in these little moments that we capture.
Time for Sophie to get her dress on, but not before Sarah capturing the detail of a little blue heart embroidered on to the inside of it. A lovely, delicate touch if we do say so ourselves.
Sarah took some stunningly intimate and candid shots of Sophie and it was time to invite Dad in for that all important first look; a lovely, wholesome moment.
Time to get hitched! We followed Sophie down the stairs of the venue, with veil trailing behind her and the nerves started to set in.
With the music playing and the venue set, the flower girls took to the floor to throw their petals around before the bridesmaids made their entrance in their stunning, slinky cream dresses.
In an emotional walk, Sophie made her way to her husband to be before greeting each other and reading out their own, personal vows.
Time to seal deal with a kiss and head outside for the confetti throwing. The sun was pouring down on this Spring day which was the perfect opportunity for outdoor shots.
We took it to the grounds of Plum Park to get some beautiful shots of the newlyweds and Sophie even had her own solo shoot which WE LOVED.
All of their guests were fantastic and so happy to have us take candid photos of them.
This was honestly one of the best weddings we’ve shot and we’re not sure we’ll be talking pictures of any helicopters again for a long time.
To Sophie and Alex!
