When we say Jamie and Jade’s wedding was one for the books, we’re not exaggerating. Imagine building your own barn as your wedding reception venue (yes, really), throwing in some adorable dogs and horses for photos, and topping it all off with stunning homegrown flowers from the bride’s own little flower farm.
These two childhood sweethearts pulled off a DIY wedding day that was laid-back and absolutely legendary. Two of the main things we absolutely love as wedding photographers and videographers!

The Wedding Workshop in Ampthill
First off, can we talk about Jade’s dress? Designed and handmade by Danielle at The Wedding Workshop in Ampthill, it was the definition of stylish and individuality.
Danielle created a bespoke masterpiece for Jade, complete with a veil that perfectly complemented the dress and her barn wedding.
Jade looked like an absolute dream, and knowing it was all created in a space where brides feel totally at ease just made it that much more special. (We’re all for an effortless dress-shopping experience, and having had personal experience with this place, Wedding Workshop is really lovely!)
Limbersey Lane Flowers
Now, onto the flowers. Jade’s little flower farm, Limbersey Lane Flowers, provided the most gorgeous, homegrown blooms. Dahlias, wild stems, and everything in between. It was like the garden of dreams exploded into their barn wedding.
And let’s not forget the extra help she got from the talented florists at Floral Roots, Rambling Stems, and the Golden Hare Gallery to make her vision come to life. Every single arrangement was so full of love and personality!
Chicken George
And then there was the food. We’re still having cravings for the insane dinner catered by Chicken George. If you know, you know. They’re absolute legends in these parts, and their food never disappoints.
Fold Me Close
For evening bites, Fold Me Close came through with mouthwatering delights, (the best pizza ever), and we couldn’t stop munching.
Raw Boys Club
Oh, and don’t even get us started on that truffle salami during the snack and cocktail hour from Raw Boys Club. Honestly, a total foodie’s dream from start to finish! My WORD, I still dream of that truffle salami.
Truly Medley Deeply
The entertainment for the night of their barn wedding? Truly Medley Deeply absolutely smashed it. These guys are the ultimate party starters with their one-of-a-kind medleys.
From disco to 90s bangers, every guest was on the dancefloor living their best life. Their ability to mix genres and eras seamlessly? Mind-blowing. We will recommend them forever now!
Jamie and Jade’s day had the kind of energy where you didn’t want it to end, and Truly Medley Deeply played a massive part in making that happen!!
The Swig and Filly
Oh, and we can’t forget the bar! The Swig and Filly kept the drinks flowing, and their set-up was not only functional but completely stunning. A perfectly executed detail for this already incredible day.

They Built Their Own Barn!
This barn wedding was packed full of personal details that made it so special. Let’s start with the barn itself. Jamie and Jade built their own barn in their garden. Yes, you read that right.
After pushing their wedding back a year to finish construction, they threw the ultimate reception in a space they created together. Honestly, when we walked in, our jaws hit the floor. It was cosy, chic, and just had them written all over it. Better than some actual wedding venues!
Personal Detail in Jade’s Dress
Then there was Jade’s dress…Not just stunning, but filled with emotion. Sewn inside was a note in her grandma’s handwriting, hand-stitched from Etsy. Can you even cope with how meaningful that is? It was such a lovely touch and one of those details that made this wedding so unique.
DOGS AND HORSES!!
The inclusion of their dogs and horses was another absolute win. A benefit of a wedding at home, their furry friends were such a big part of the day, posing for photos and being their adorable selves. It added so much joy and personality, and honestly, we’re always here for a wedding that includes the whole family – four-legged members included!
Bridemaids and Flower Girl
The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their Ever Pretty dresses, while the flower girl twirled her heart out in Monsoon.
Everyone was beaming, and it was impossible not to smile when you looked around their barn wedding.
Jades Accessories
Jade’s accessories, from her Charlotte Mills shoes (hello, hidden sixpence for luck!) to her bracelet and rings by Heather Goldthorpe in the village, were beautifully chosen. Every detail felt intentional and authentic, just like the couple themselves.
