South Farm Wedding – Kirstie & Lee

A Winter Wedding at South Farm

South Farm is an extra special venue to us, as we got married there in 2016. So when Kirstie and Lee asked us to shoot their wedding there, we were well extra excited to be shooting video as well as photography for them both.

They got married in November, so a lovely winter wedding. A lot of people are put off by winter weddings because of the chances of adverse weather, and rightly so, the lack of light. But if you plan carefully and don’t get married too late in the day, the setting can be just as picturesque. Sometimes, even more romantic with warming fires, low light, and an extra cuddly bride and groom keeping one another warm. Yep, we’re fans of winter weddings.

Wedding Details

Kirstie chose to get married in a gorgeous Essence of Australia dress, seemingly simple and sleek, but finished with touches of chunky lace and a defining train. Lee and the rest of the boys wore suits from The Vintage Suit Hire, known for their outstanding finishes – Like lapel pins and unique buttons!

The pair dressed South Farms inviting barn with warm lights, logs and overall brought a real touch of a warm winter. This is why winter weddings are extra romantic. When its cold and dark outside at 5pm, you’re all huddled inside, in the warm and surrounded by those you love most. That, put together with South Farm’s incredible catering and you’re on to a winner, for sure!

Despite all of the well thought out details – Kirstie and Lee’s wedding was for sure a family affair. We felt so welcomed into the family by both sides, and Kirstie, Lee and their daughters were such a delight to get to know in the run up to the wedding and on the day. This pair were loved up and giggling all day, despite the cold. Thats what its all about!

We like to really get to know our couples, so as well as two wedding photographers you get two friends for life, every time!
Guys – We need to go for that Curry at The Ghandi soon!
