Some weddings just instantly feel like your kind of people! The second we arrived at Bassmead Manor Barns for Tia and Aaron’s wedding, we knew it was going to be one of those days. Super relaxed, loads of laughter, loads of cuddles, loads of chaos in the best way…and genuinely just a group of people absolutely buzzing to celebrate these two.
Which, honestly, is exactly our favourite kind of wedding as wedding photographers at Bassmead Manor Barns!
Tucked away in the Cambridgeshire countryside, Bassmead Manor Barns has this awesome balance of rustic and modern vibes without feeling too stuffy. It feels warm and inviting, like somewhere you can properly settle into for the day with all your favourite people.

A super relaxed morning with the dream supplier team
The morning prep honestly set the tone for the whole Bassmead Manor Barns wedding.
Tia was getting ready in the boudoir at Bassmead Manor Barns with her closest people, and the vibe was just calm, happy, and genuinely exciting without any unnecessary pressure and stress flying around the room.
Which for obvious reasons, feels rare at weddings sometimes!
Tia looked incredible with those bloomin’ awesome Hollywood waves whilst keeping her makeup really soft and natural. Apparently her sister helped with a little bit of makeup because Tia barely wears any normally anyway, and honestly? She absolutely did not need loads. It suited her perfectly.
Effortless but still really elegant!
The team at Alexander Wedding Belles absolutely smashed the hair styling side of things too. Those waves held all day and looked unreal on video and in all the photos.

Meanwhile, Aaron and the lads were over in the Dudeoir getting ready, which felt less like “quiet groom prep” and more like a football changing room five minutes before kickoff. His entire football team had been invited, which definitely explained the level of noise coming later at night from across the moat as we left!
We loved it though. The energy all morning was brilliant!
Why Bassmead Manor Barns works so well for intimate weddings
Something we really loved about this Bassmead Manor Barns wedding was how intimate it felt despite having a big group of guests.
Bassmead Manor Barns is such a good venue for that because everything flows naturally without people feeling spread out or disconnected.
You can move from the Rickety Barn to the Moat Barn to the Bridge Barn without ever losing that cosy atmosphere.
Tia and Aaron chose to have their ceremony inside the Rickety Barn beneath all those incredible old oak beams and soft lighting, and honestly it just suited them perfectly.
There’s something really special about that ceremony space. It feels romantic without trying too hard. Historic without feeling too formal.
And because the guest list was mostly family, close friends, (and Aaron’s football squad), the whole ceremony felt emotional, intimate, but still really fun at the same time.

The cutest cuddly couple ever
Not to sound dramatic, but Tia and Aaron may genuinely be one of the cuddliest couples we’ve ever photographed!
Every five seconds during their Bassmead Manor Barns wedding they were hugging or leaning into each other or laughing about something completely random. Which honestly makes our jobs ridiculously easy because natural connection always photographs and films beautifully. Nothing ever felt forced with them.
That’s something we always look for when shooting weddings. We never want couples standing awkwardly wondering what to do with their hands whilst we shout weird instructions at them from across a field.
We’d much rather create space for people to actually interact naturally and let the moments happen properly.
Tia and Aaron absolutely trusted the process, which meant we could capture loads of those little in-between moments that end up being everyone’s favourites afterwards.

Golden hour, peacocks, and one very excited content creator
This Bassmead Manor Barns wedding was also the first time our content creator joined us alongside photo and video coverage, which was honestly really cool to have us all come together on the day!
It worked so naturally because we’re all very similar people anyway. Excitable golden retriever energy but trying not to cause too much chaos.
The team at Bassmead Manor Barns are legends too because they give couples loads of freedom to actually enjoy the grounds properly without making things feel rushed.
So when golden hour hit, we wandered off around the moat, chased soft light through the gardens, and probably got slightly too excited every time the peacocks appeared in the background. Worth it though.
The venue photographs beautifully at sunset because the light catches across the orchard the barns soften in the evening. Everything suddenly feels really cinematic without needing staging.

A proper party thanks to Strobe Disco Roadshow
Once the evening kicked off, it really kicked off.
Strobe Disco Roadshow absolutely brought the energy all night long. The dancefloor was packed almost immediately, Rob’s always so good at this!
Which says a lot considering football teams are either incredible wedding guests or complete chaos. Usually both.
The Bridge Barn transforms so well in the evening too. During the day it feels bright and airy, but once the lights drop and the music starts, it completely changes the atmosphere and feels like a proper party space.

The little details that made the day feel personal
One thing we always notice at Bassmead Manor Barns weddings is that the most memorable days are rarely about perfection. They’re about personality!!
The flowers by Sophie May Floral brought loads of softness and movement into the venue with really romantic, flowing arrangements that suited Bassmead Manor Barns perfectly.

The cake from KWCakery looked awesome.

Tia’s jewellery from Abbott Lyon added just enough detail without overpowering her natural look.
And honestly, the whole day just felt very them.
Nothing was overly staged or trying too hard. Just a genuinely lovely group of people having the best time together in a beautiful setting!
