A venue that we hold dear, as Dan actually shot a few scenes from his personal project film here a few years back – Flaxbourne Gardens!
Mary and Stephen tied the knot in a church tucked away in busy Ampthill, Bedfordshire, surrounded by ancient buildings and wisteria. The church is absolutely ancient and must have witnessed some incredible events throughout the centuries – But is there really anything as lovely as a wedding between two awesome people?
They got married on a lovely sunny day, which is perfect for a wedding followed up at Flaxbourne Gardens, a marquee venue surrounded by exquisite gardens and fantastic nooks and crannies!
Some touching speeches, homemade booze and a superb meal alongside a live guitarist led into the dancing, and the floor was full almost immediately! After a while, we stole Mary and Stephen away for a few moments, a breather, and some beautiful evening portraits – We always like to try and sneak some evening shots in, and its so nice for our couples to take a moment to reflect on what an epic day its been before we say goodbye!
Time and time again, we find that its not the incredible locations, or even the details that make the wedding. Its the people. These two didn’t aim for an extravagant wedding full of details and expensive cake, it was purely about them two, their family and their friends. Everyone was so welcoming, cheerful and merry, and Mary’s mum is now our dog sitter, too!
Here are a few of our favourites…
