First things first, the obvious has to be said – That although this wedding took place in Winter, the sun was out and we’re aware it almost looks like spring. Trust us though, it was still pretty cold in the grounds of Offley Place. Most couples are preparing for potential rain in July and August, and although you kind of know what to expect with Winter weddings, these guys prepared too.
Their day started with a lovely ceremony in the main barn at Hunsbury Hill, with tears before it even began as Aisling arrived and saw the venue – Very emotional! The photo of her tearing up as she arrived in the car and saw everyone going inside is probably one of our favourites. We love those real moments of emotion as well as the laughter and fun stuff.
The Barns at Hunsbury Hill was a ‘new’ venue for us, first time shooting there and we’re great fans of the landscape and mix of textures and buildings. With wooden doors, original beams all on the top of a hill surrounded by amazing lands – Its just beautiful!
Their wedding breakfast was an array of ‘afternoon tea’ style foods with scrummy cakes and teas, and for this one Aisling & Ben kindly sat us on the tables with the guests! If theres one way to our hearts, its probably via yorkshire tea, so there we have it.
After dinner we were treated to an incredible golden hour before the sunset and their first dance happened whilst the sun was still going. It wasn’t long before ties were literally wrapped around the heads and kids took over the dance floor, love it!
Thanks for having us, Aisling and Ben, we had a blast with you guys.
